چکیده
Emulsion polymerization remains the most attractive method to produce waterborne dispersions for coatings and adhesives, thanks use of water as dispersion medium. The possibility replace surfactants necessary stabilization by biopolymers would make this route even more alleviate shortcomings surfactants. Herein, dextrins were used sole stabilizer stable latex emulsion with solid contents up 55 wt% narrow size distributions. H2O2/ascorbic acid redox initiator was found be effective, ensuring a complete at 50 °C within 3–4 h, giving rise dextrin-functionalized polymer latexes particle between 150 600 nm. explained coating particles chemically bound layer dextrins, forming steric barrier. functionalization exploited induce post-crosslinking inclusion additives capable reacting dextrins. As application, crosslinkable pressure-sensitive adhesive prepared without any additive. Given biobased origin their availability, in is promising coatings, inks, drug delivery, textiles.

Preparation of Inert Polystyrene Latex Particles as MicroRNA Delivery Vectors by Surfactant-Free RAFT Emulsion Polymerization.
We present the preparation of 11 nm polyacrylamide-stabilized polystyrene latex particles for conjugation to a microRNA model by surfactant-free RAFT emulsion polymerization. Our synthetic strategy involved the preparation of amphiphilic polyacrylamide-block-polystyrene copolymers, which were able to self-assemble into polymeric micelles and "grow" into polystyrene latex particles. The surface ...
متن کاملModel Predictive Control of Free Surfactant Concentration in Emulsion Polymerization
Abstract: In emulsion polymerization processes, the surfactant concentration plays an important role in the latex stability, reaction kinetics and particle size distribution (PSD). Controlling the free surfactant concentration in the aqueous phase ensures the stability of the latex and the control of the micellar nucleation rate. The PSD is determined by particle nucleation, growth and stabilit...

Latex nanoparticles comprising cationically charged coronas and hydrophobic cores with different glass transition temperatures (Tg) have been prepared by surfactant-free, RAFT-mediated emulsion polymerization, where the particles form through a polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) type mechanism. Poly(2-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate-co-methacrylic acid) (P(DMAEMA-co-MAA)) was utilized ...

Cloisite Na+was used as a solid surfactant (stabilizer) in Pickering emulsion polymerization of styrene-co-butyl acrylate in presence of oil soluble initiator, azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) and water soluble initiator, potassium persulfate (KPS). Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrum approved the corporation of Cloisite Na+ layers within the polymer matrix. Effect of clay content was a...
